How it works — tickets
Seal does not sell tickets. Seal makes a ticket verifiable, and keeps no buyer data.
If you hold a ticket
Your ticket has a link, or a number printed on it. The link shows a code that changes every minute: that is what you read out at the door. A screenshot does not move; your ticket does.
If you never received a link
Go to the address printed on your ticket and type your number. There is nothing to install, and Seal has neither your name nor your email.
For the promoter: three ways to use it
You have no ticketing system: Seal issues your tickets. You have one: you paste your list of numbers and Seal protects the door. Your system can call Seal: it does so on every sale, without ever sending us contact details.
Three ways to get paid
I sell elsewhere: Seal collects nothing, your showcase sends people to your own site, and Seal only guards the door. Card online: the buyer pays on YOUR Stripe account, you are the merchant, the money goes to you. Reservation, paid to me: Seal holds the seat, the buyer pays you by your usual means quoting their reservation number, and you mark it paid in your portal — the ticket becomes valid at the door. In all three, Seal never touches the money.
Resale, and the agreement of both camps
Resale above the price is off by default. To open it you need one person from the production AND one from the venue, each with their code of the minute — and Seal keeps the timestamped trace of that agreement in your portal. That is your proof. Giving a ticket away, and reselling at the price paid, stay free, always. Your venue, written in three lines
Type “Stalls | A-J | 1-20” and Seal draws your map and creates the 200 seats. Nothing to drag and drop, nothing to upload. One venue serves all your shows, and your customers see where they would be sitting before they buy.
At the door
A door post is a web address on any phone or tablet. The attendant scans, or has the code read out. A ticket already admitted is refused; so is a revoked one.
If Seal is down on the night
Export the offline file the week before and test it. It lets you compute the valid codes with no network. Keep it like a box of paper tickets, and destroy it afterwards.
Who answers for what
The promoter is the sole merchant: payment, refunds, cancellations, customer service. Seal provides the verification and is party to no sale.
